OPERATOR QUALIFICATION (O.Q)

Trenching Paving Welding & Plastic Fusion Horizontal Directional Drilling Tapping & Stopping Training

The Operator Qualification rule is part of the Department of Transportation 49 CFR 192 (subpart N) and 49 CFR Part 195 (subpart G), under the Office of Pipeline Safety. This rule requires natural gas pipeline operators to develop, implement, and maintain a written qualification program for individuals performing covered tasks on gas pipeline facilities.

As the contractor of choice for two of New Jersey's natural gas pipeline operators, we must also adhere to those same OQ requirements. At J.F. Kiely Construction Co., we are committed to and provide a trained, "qualified" work force, and maintain records of each workers qualification performing those specific covered tasks.

At J.F. Kiely Construction Co., our employees are OQ trained and evaluated by our Supervisors annually. As a member of the Midwest Energy Association (formerly the Energy Training Network), we are able to stay current with all Operator Qualification regulatory updates.

In addition to the required Operator Qualification training, our employees are Hazmat, Respirator, Competent Person, Excavation & Trench safety trained. Routine safety meetings and tool box talks ensure each employee is working in a safe and compliant manner.
